The fourth and final leg of the Maverick Boats Flatsmasters Series is always a challenge.  Viewed by some as even tougher than the Grand Slam Plug, the RedSnook can drive you crazy.  Redfish are typically in good numbers in September, and it’s usually not tough to capture a quality tournament fish.  However, the temptation to keep upgrading your redfish can leave you with no time to fish for snook.   Start the day snook fishing and coming up empty handed can be even worse. Losing the whole day to snook fishing (with no snook) and not leaving time for an easy red can have you staring at a zero on the leader board.

Factor in the added stress of needing valuable points for the Team of the Year Race or even just to qualify for The Flatsmasters Championship and some teams can end up sitting at Harpoon Harry’s wondering what just happened to their playoff run!

But when things go right, The Flatsmasters RedSnook Challenge can be a showcase of backcountry talent. Last year it took 15.68lbs. to make the cut to day #2. Every team has a different game plan and they all sound good on paper.  The true test will come on September 13th, when we see who makes the cut to the RedSnook Shootout and ultimately becomes RedSnook champions!!!

“The Bimini Big Game Resort and Marina, Bimini Bahamas”

The Bimini Big Game Resort Team of the Year Race is coming down to the wire. Team ReMax Harbor Realty- 2008 Grand Slam Plug Champions
Team Outcast
- 2008 RedPlug Champions and 2007 Rookie of the Year
