Nets

Team Moonlite Charters is pleased to announce their recent affiliation with EGO Nets.

“We are very excited to be representing EGO Nets…their product is top notch” said Jason Dudley, one of the three team members. Capt. Brad Brown, Capt. Derek Carlson and Jason Dudley of Team Moonlite Charters have been fishing together for the past 3 years. The three anglers have over 50 years of combined experience on the waters of Florida. Team Moonlite Charters success has been driven by its three members bringing their individually unique fishing perspectives together, making their combined efforts more effective. In the past 3 years Team Moonlite Charter has won numerous tournaments, including one of the largest in the State of Florida. Most recently they qualified for the 2007 O’Boy O’Berto Redfish Cup Championship. The EGO brand has been built on integrity, innovation and superior product design.

We are pleased to be affiliated with a team of young professional anglers that recognize and value these elements in their fishing equipment” said Grant Corbett, President--Adventure Products, Inc. “We look forward to working with these three anglers, representing TEAM EGO as they pursue a championship finish for the 2008 Tournament season!”

Jason Dudley, a 23 year resident of Eagle River, Alaska, is now a SW Florida resident and making quite a name for himself. “While I lived in Alaska, fishing and hunting was a way of life. When I moved here 11 years ago, decided to keep the tradition”.

Team “Moonlight Charters” fishes several local charity tournaments and recently won the Flatsmasters Championship. Jason runs a classic Actioncraft 16 and often fishes with his daughter Alexa.  This press release was announced this past February by Ego Nets:

May 10th, 2008 - Team EGO nets usually hits the wall with the second leg of the Flatsmasters "The Redfish Classic".

This year we seemed to be hitting on all cylinders coming into this tournament. 2 weeks prior to this event we were out checking some of our spots and we hit the motherload of redfish. We caught 40 redfish in 2 hours from one spot. We knew if these fish were there that we had a good shot at getting 14 lbs each day of the tournament. It was a long two weeks hoping those fish stayed there and no one else found them. The day before the tournament we were out pre-fishing and went to check on those reds. Well 10 minutes after pitching in the first bait we had 3 reds to the boat and one a perfect slot fish. That was all we needed. We left to go off and get ready for the next day. The first day we got to our spot and started fishing. After 10 minutes of nothing the fireworks started, as fast as you could get your bait under the trees you would be hooked up. We caught red after red and ended up catching round 50 fish from that one spot. Most of the redfish we were pulling out of the mangroves were over-slot fish, however we managed to get approximately 10 of them to fit under the 27" line. We brought back 2 reds weighing 13.42 lbs (6.95 & 6.47) and squeaked our way into the top 5 to fish on Day 2 with the cameramen onboard. We knew it would be tough fishing in our spot as we had beat it up to make Day 2. We got there and fished it hard, we ended up getting 11 reds from the same spot on Day 2, one was right near the top of the slot and the other was around 3 pounds. We needed to upgrade and we needed it fast. We went to a couple spots that we had pre-fished and came up blank. I told the guys we needed to start running and gunning to spots that Derek and I fish regularly and catch fish. At our second spot it happened, not more that 5 minutes of being there we hooked up with a nice redfish. We though it would be close to the top of the slot and when we got it on the boat we knew it was good. Once we laid it on the measuring board all doubts were off as it came in at 26.5". Out goes the 3 pound fish and in comes the 6 lbs fish. This was at 2:30 and we needed to make the long run back up to the weigh in. At the weigh in we started in 5th position. We set the bar high with a 6.37lb fish. The next closest team had a 5.73lb redfish. Round 2 we knew we had a bigger fish that was barely under the line. Once it measured it weighed in at 6.84lbs to give us a total of 13.21lbs. We were able to walk away from the rest of the teams as no other team was able to break the 6lb mark. It was a great feeling to get into the top spot again!!!

The tournament will be televised on SunSports channel in June/July.
