This time of year white bait is hard to come by, so fishing with shrimp is the only alternative. And it's working! The one thing about shrimp, is it doesn't discriminate. You can catch any and everything. The variety of fish to be had both in-shore and near-shore has been at a personal all time high this past week. From redfish to snapper, jacks to puffer fish, sheepshead, pompano, flounder, trout , wrash and fish I'm afraid to say I don't even know the names for, that's how large the variety has been.
A 20 lb black drum was the top of the heap. Unfortunately in the wonder of the moment the camera was no where to be found. But the memory is fresh, and the size keeps growing with each telling of the story. :)
See you out there.
